Graphic featuring the Growing Our Own initiative, celebrating former Texarkana Arkansas School District students who return to serve their community. The left side displays the headline "Growing Our Own" with the tagline "Celebrating Razorbacks Who Choose to Give Back." On the right is a portrait of Hailee Nero, smiling and wearing a white graduation stole with red trim over a light-colored outfit. Her name appears in a red banner below the portrait. The clean, branded design introduces Hailee as a featured educator in the district's Growing Our Own series.

Every Razorback Has a Beginning

For Hailee Nero, becoming an educator and coach is about giving back through the same encouragement that shaped her own life.

Inspired by family members, coaches, and mentors who believed in her, Hailee discovered the difference that caring adults can make in the lives of young people. Their guidance inspired her to pursue a career where she could help students build confidence, develop healthy habits, and realize their potential both in and beyond the classroom.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies from the University of Arkansas, Hailee begins her teaching career following four years of serving students as a paraprofessional at Kilpatrick Academy of Public Service.

This fall, she joins Fairview Elementary as the Physical Education Teacher while also serving as an assistant girls' volleyball and softball coach at Arkansas High School, where she looks forward to encouraging students and student-athletes alike.

"People like my father Quentin Wyatt and my aunt, Amanda Nero-Henry, Coach Danielle Aubrey, Robin Holland, & Micheal Hill inspired me to pursue teaching and coaching because they showed me the lasting impact that caring mentors can have on young people. This opportunity means so much to me because it allows me to encourage students to grow in confidence, stay active, reach their potential & set the bar for my own kids!"

Outside of school, Hailee enjoys running and working out. Looking ahead, she hopes to one day open a basketball gym and athletic training facility dedicated to supporting girls' and women's sports, creating even more opportunities for young athletes to succeed.
